Does anyone know why my philodendron looks so unhappy? When I got it, the leaves were super perky and bright, but now it is constantly drooping and dropping leaves. I’ve did root control, made sure it has enough drainage, put it under a grow light, etc. but nothing seems to be working :(

It looks really dry. I would look up if that plant needs to be transplanted to a bigger pot (the pink one might be fine) because the soil could be drying out too fast or you need to water it more.

Thank you! I was worried about overwatering, but maybe a little too worried!

I would plant it in the pink pot! Its growth is probably stunted/declining because of roots being confined in such a small pot. Get fresh soil in that pink pot, fertilize her, love her & then leave her alone. 💖

just make sure you have enough roots that fill in the pink pot so you have about 1-2 inches of space around the roots! in othet words, make sure you put your plant in a pot that is only 1-2 inches bigger than the root ball! too much extra soil retains too much moisture, as the roots cant absorb that left over water, which may result in root rot. good luck!

Looks overwatered. I suspect the drainage and drying of the soil is slowed down by the pink pot. The pink pot looks like it has soil in it. I recommend you take the plant out of the pink pot and off the soil to give it better air circulation. Check if it’s root bound by removing the black pot. It’s time to repot if there are more roots than soil visible. Repot in the next larger size pot, no more than 2 inches wider. Repot in the same pot with dry potting mix if roots are not overgrown. New dry soil will help dry the roots. Cut off all root rot and disinfect with hydrogen peroxide. The pink pot looks too big. Measure to be sure if you plan to use it. Do not reuse the soil in the pink pot. Use fresh soil to be safe. Clean and disinfectant the pink pot to ensure there are no bacterial issues left over from the plant if you plan to use it. 🍀🪴
