Plant Dad

I've had this Prince of Orange Philodendron since about March. Since then, it has quadrupled in size, however I don't see many roots considering the size of the plant. I moticed today that it is starting to lean/grow sideways. It looks like it is starting to push out roots as if it wants to grow sideways. Should I repot and plant it on its side so those roots can grow for a more stable plant as it gets larger?

    It looks like it’s leaning towards light. I’d recommend a slightly larger pot and perhaps some brighter light, not too direct though!

      He gets some morning direct light, late afternoon direct light and has a grow light directly above lol I also rotate every time i water. I thought it was that at first as well which is when i started rotating it...;

      Oh interesting. I’d definitely start looking into what he’s searching for.

    Do you mean aerial roots? I agree it looks like it's leaning towards light. Rotate him. And it wouldn't hurt to add a moss pole (not a coir pole). I wouldn't change the orientation on the plant though. There's no reason to. As the aerials will find what they want. You can either push them into the soil or pole when they are long enough.

      I didn't realize Prince of Orange got aerial roots as they aren't a climber. Definitely good to know. I will just repot him as is just with a little more space...

      He maybe looking for more moisture? When its hot that's usually when I see an aerial roots explosion on the philo and monestera. which is why I was thinking a moist moss poll would calm him down lol
