It can be potting soil of your choice** just depends what amendments you’d like to add as for nutrients or drainage. Like Perlite or clay pebbles for inorganic and peat moss, coconut coir or worm castings for organics. Hope this helps. 😊
1 LikeI do miracle grow brand and do indoor potting soil, perlite and orchid bark. High drainage if you have plants that are prone to root rot
2 Likesi tend to buy potting soil with perlite mixed in and then alter as i please for each plant. my begonia got some peat moss added, my thai con got coco chips and extra bark. this is the most convenient for me 🤷♂️
3 LikesI pretty much stick to general potting soil and then I add perlite. A lot of plants seem to need the chunky stuff, not so dense like normal potting soil. So that’s what I do. I mix it as I go.

Fox farms Ocean Forest 12qt. bag (love this stuff) Sungro Black Gold Perlite 8qt. (I don’t think the brand matters much for this one) Miracle Gro indoor potting mix for Orchids 8qt. (So light and airy compared to others brands I’ve used) Mix them all together in a big tote. This works for almost all my house plants- including succulents.
