Continuing to have issues with my polka dot plant. Recently I repotted it in this larger pot with a tropical soil and put it in an east facing window. But it’s still struggling. Maybe it’s still in shock from being repotted? Any help is appreciated!

It’s not you. It’s the plant. They are basically a plant that lives slightly longer than cut flowers. I rarely see them thrive as an indoor houseplant. They lose their color from too much light while getting leggy from not enough light AT THE SAME TIME. They are cheap though so just replace when you are in the mood to have your heart broken. Also high water needs and don’t let it dry out if you can.

0개 좋아요P.S. do they thrive outdoors and if so, what type of lighting is best?
0개 좋아요LOL I love this reply. Sometimes they’re just not worth it — I don’t bother with these! The double Sarah here is 🥴😂
2개 좋아요I have two of them and I’ve had them for a couple of years. I water them when Planta tells me to and also fertilize when they tell me to. My plants are lovely. And, they are both placed in front of a sliding glass door out to my deck. There is another deck over mine so the sunlight isn’t directly.

0개 좋아요It looks like the pot might be a little too big. I have mine in a west facing window and it’s doing pretty well. I even made two babies from it.
4개 좋아요It was previously in a two inch pot but the roots were starting to come out the bottom of it so I sized up. The pot pictured is 4”. Should I have kept the 2” instead?
0개 좋아요Really?! Lol it looks so much bigger in the picture. I didn’t repot mine until it the roots were literally starting to wrap around the pot. I’m not saying to wait that long but maybe you could size down a little and give it time to adjust. I also wouldn’t let this dry out too much because they like to be moist so I water every couple of days. These also like to humidity so I run my humidifier every other day to help with dry leaves.
2개 좋아요My polka dot seems to be thriving since I switched it to chunky soil. Helps with quick drainage. They like to be watered often or else the leaves will brown or wilt off. But they are dramatic if you leave them in moist soil. High drainage has fixed brown leaves for me!
