Hi plant friends! Looking for some recommendations of types of plants to get for my space. I want to make sure I’m picking ones that are best suited for the environment. I have a west facing window in my bedroom that I’ve got a ton of plants sitting on the window sill currently. I also have a sliding glass door that leads to a balcony that’s a south facing “window”, I’d say it’s bright to bright indirect most of the day. Any suggestions for west and south facing window loving plants??? Apartment friendly! :)

I always recommend ZZs - they thrive any and everywhere!

Hi Emmy! Dark leafed Begonias will blossom beautifully and do well in direct sun. If you’re interested in veggies, tomatoes in pots would do well on your balcony and produce some yummy results!

Most plants are good in bright lighting. Think of when you sit under a tree on a sunny day; for most plants that is the ideal lighting. Of course there are some that are more sensitive, but if you acclimate them properly a lot of plants will do well over time.

I love Chinese money plants, snake plants, zz plants, prayer plants (don’t put in harsh lighting), raindrop plants, and you could try some succulents as well!
