My rose-painted calathea has a ton of dry edges. She currently sits on a shelf next to an east facing window. Is she getting too much direct sunlight should I trim away the dry edges? Any help is much appreciated.

Check for root rot
1 me gustaHow do you do that?
2 Me gustaThere’s no root rot, I water it about once a week.
1 me gustaI have another just like it next to a south facing window and it’s absolutely beautiful with no issues.
1 me gustaIt may be dry air
1 me gustaDo you use tap water? Calathea do best with distilled or rain water. Tap water will kill them😫
0 Me gustaIs it ok to use tap water that’s been left out over night? Apparently leaving it out makes it ok
0 Me gustaWater that sits out over night helps but it doesn’t remove lime from the tap water and Calathea are very lime sensitive. I only water mine with distilled or rainwater and it help me keep them alive much longer
0 Me gustaTrim away the dead leaves yes!
