Hello everybody, new plant owner here! Was hoping to get some recommendations on different houseplants to look into as I’m starting to build my collection? I don’t have a preference just excited to get started!

Absolute best number one starter houseplant to get in my opinion is a ZZ if you like greenery, snake plant if you like succulents. I got both of them back when I was a black thumb and they survived until I built up the green-ish thumb I have now. Def good for easy starters

Totally agree!! ZZ was my first plant and it was advertised as the ‘plant of steel’ and great for offices. I put it in my rather dark/no actual sunlight office and it was great!!

Hey nice to meet you! Getting into plants can be the best and most rewarding. I would say Pothos are great starters along with Hoyas! I lost a lot of plants when I first started but I learned a lot. Enjoy yourself and always come drop a chat if you need help this is a beautiful community!

I have fallen in love with all things Philodendron! There’s a wide variety of options in that family and most of them are very different from the other. All three of these are in the Philodendron family and all unique looking. I have 20 different philodendrons in my collection. Happy Shopping!! 🛒

My best plants that don’t need a ton of attention - ZZ plant. Snake plants. Pothos. Good starter plants. My mini monstera has done well too. Spider plant can be good too. Good luck! Read up on the light they need as I find that to be most important. My house doesn’t offer a ton of bright light so I’ve learned I can’t get those kinds of plants.

Don't be afraid of orchids. They have unusual needs, but once you know how to water them, they're very hardy and rewarding
