I don’t have a recommendation but here’s what I don’t like about what I am using. It’s a quart bottle of stinky liquid that I need to measure 1 tablespoon and then pour it into another container and shake that mixture up and hope I don’t get it everywhere. Then I’m ready to pour it on my plants. It’s organic. I hope you get some great suggestions! It’s a problem for me.

I see. Well it might just be commonplace because I’ve tried superthrive and man does it stink. It smells like chum, like dead raw fish, like just foul. The superthrive smell doesn’t linger. I can put my indoor plants back inside within an hour after putting it in them.

Mine mostly reminds me of fish sauce! It’s the mess and color that are the problem for me. The smell does fade away but I don’t think it will be as nice in winter when my apartment is quite shut up. So I’m still going to switch.

I swear by Joyful Dirt. I use their houseplant fertilizer on all of my plants, and it’s served me well for several years. It’s organic and comes in a powder form, almost looks like dust or ash. You can either mix it with water, or shake a little directly onto the plant’s soil before watering. I tend to alternate between those two methods, depending on how lazy I’m feeling and how young/sensitive the plant is to proper dilution. Another poster mentioned the stinky liquid. I used this as well, the specific brand was Marphyl, but there are a ton of quality marine plankton fertilizers. It works very well, but smells wretched (and that smell lingers in the soil). It was making my whole house stink, so I used it up on my outdoor plants and did not repurchase. Every time I decide to try something new, I always end up back with Joyful Dirt.

Wow! I checked out your plants and I am going to donate what I have to a church garden and try Joyful Dirt.

In soil & strat/perl pots I use SuperThrive & Prop Drops. In homemade pon pots I use Osmcote slow release. I'm also starting to add Mycorrhizal Fungi to soil plants which helps with nutrient absorption.

I have never used any fertilizer (except on my lemon & avocado trees happy frog brand), but I’m considering getting some just out of curiosity. I’m considering osmocote (tried & true brand), happy frog for houseplants (very well rated products) or this other brand I saw a lady w/massive plants using. It’s costly IMO, but worth it if it’s good. I’ll share a pic of it because the name is literally instant plant food (super generic lol). I wanna see if they’ll grow faster. I give my plants superthrive. Be warned it’s stinky af, but it doesn’t linger. I spread worm castings over the topsoil of plants that aren’t due for repotting or that have recently been repotted every couple months. I’ve recently made my own planting mixture of perlite, compost, some premium organic (manure containing) potting soil and worm castings. Once I’m able to get everything repotted w/this mix I’ll still spread worm castings, but less. The possibilities are endless.
