help asap!! looks like there is mold growing in the soil?…. the only time i watered it was once and bottom watered it. idk what to do. this is my string of bananas

    That's root rot. Your best bet to save the plant would be to cut it up and propagate. What likely happened in this case was poor drainage after the bottom watering; it looks like that's potting soil and not a high-drainage succulent mix. If you want to try to save the root section, repot it, and trim away any diseased roots, and treat the rest with hydrogen peroxide. Downsize the pot and use a high-drainage soil mix. Unglazed terracotta is a good choice since it can wick away excess moisture. Hopefully the propagations will be healthy, but the roots and any that show signs of rot can be retreated with peroxide every 2-3 days

      i ended up repotting it. i used succulent potting mix i think it just held too much moisture.. idk string of things are so annoying in my opinion 😂

    I would suggest doing your best to remove any and all visible moldy soil then a little bit more. Mold often grows invisible so you’ll probably have to add more soil afterwards. Also make sure you carefully check any plants that were stored near (I’d check any within a meter radius) for signs of the same issue.
