      rot! get it out of that pot — rinse all soil out of the roots and give them a dunk in a solution of hydrogen peroxide. alocasia does best in a 1:1 mix of peat and perlite with a handful of organic matter (fine bark, potting soil, etc) this promotes good moisture retention, but won’t stay wet, which is causing the rot what’s your lighting situation?

      cut away any rotted roots — black and mushy. alocasia roots are pretty fine so the dead stuff will likely fall away easily

      Thank you!! I have two big windows and a grow light! It’s about 4ft from the window.
