Hello everyone, I just got these two plants the other day from a garage sale for $10! Does anyone have any tips on how to get the tradescantia Nanouk to be healthier ? (We also guava tree for free as well!)

Fertilize with a diluted all purpose fertilizer weekly (1/4 to 1/2 strength). It may push up new growth just as it is or if you want to encourage new growth you could cut 25% of the tall growth back to about 2 in. When you see growth you can cut back more of the tall growth. Make sure that pot has drainage and keep the soil moist but not soggy. I would recommend a pebble tray or humidifier. Do not mist as they don't like wet leaves. If you cut some of the top back you could propagate these into the same pot. Just poke a hole in the soil with your finger or pencil and be sure and inch or two of stem (without leaves) is in the soil.
2 J'aimeI have been hesitant on using a pebble tray because I didn’t know if it really worked, So I’m happy you suggested it ! When I first got the tradescantia Nanouk it was in a weird pot with like 4 inches of soil and very root bound. the rest of the pot was styrofoam pieces and that’s how the other plant is right now too! I need to repot!
0 J'aimePebble trays are good, humidifiers are better. I think you can get a small one at Walgreens for about $25 or $30.
2 J'aimePerfect !! Do you know if the other one is a trailing plant ?
0 J'aimeThe other one looks like an Elephant tree succulent
