Happy Tuesday everyone 🤍 Got my mom this stunning orchid for her birthday and neither of us have ever owned one. Anything we need to know to help keep it healthy and thriving?

    Don’t water with ice cubes!!! They’re epiphytic so they don’t even need to be in soils but if so I’d suggest just orchid bark or a leca. Water when the roots turn white and silvery. I’ve seen tons of different schedules for watering but just be sure to give them time to dry out in between

    Don’t let them sit in water they don’t like it love the orchid though so gorgeous 🌸🩷🌿

    Don't get water where the leaves meet (that spot is called the "crown"). That spot can trap water and stagnate, which can rot and kill the plant. Be sure to repot them after they're done flowering; nurseries use spongey peat plugs that are good for baby orchids, but retain too much moisture for mature ones.
