Finally the flowers are open. The scent is very sweet, almost similar to jasmine

You’re now in a club. Mine spit out two new leaves, but I’m waiting for that flower :)

I believe the flowering was caused by stress. I replanted the snake plant 3 weeks ago and removed 3 pups. Then couple days ago I noticed the flowering

Hey, fyi snake plants flowering is a rare event and usually means the plant is under stress or dying :( sorry to be a bummer but I’d give it a good check up

Stress yes, due to reporting and taking the pups from it. But the plant is quite healthy overall

The dying thing it’s a myth Please look it up. My plant is healthy. When the plant feels stressed it may flower as a survival mechanism changing its focus from leaves growth to reproductive growth. Also some special conditions can promote the plant reproductive cycle. For example finding the perfect light condition. I keep my plant on a window sill where it gets early morning sunlight and it seems to love it. It pushed pups out, leaves growing good.

Okay. I'm still trying to understand the "good" stress. The bottom one is meant to go that dark; the columnar one in the back lost some of its natural protection due to multiple user errors with Neem, 70% alcohol, inseticidal super soap, and direct sun too soon.

So stress in plants can be biotic or abiotic. Biotic is caused by living thing, for example bugs and fungi. Abiotic is caused by non living causes like temperature, watering, light, ph and so on. Good stress is basically controlled stress and it’s done in moderation. Temperature stress is used to condition the development of the plant, for example if the plant grows too tall to fast, reducing the temperature will slow that. Stress by drought increase hardiness. Lower the watering but stop the process at first sign of wilting. Light stress is caused by putting the plant next to another taller plant that covers the light or the plant top gets in contact with the other plant, causing the plant to grow higher to reach the light

Thank you so much for this - especially the last sentence, as it applies to so much of my herd. I have an overwhelming compulsion to move them around instead of let them show me what they want. 🌵🪴
