My Arrowhead was doing so well and giving me new leaves almost daily, it seemed. It’s still producing leaves, although maybe not quite as fast, but they are coming out yellow and brown on the edges. Please see the 2 new small leaves in each pic below. Does anyone know why?

Someone might know better than me, but it looks like an overwatering issue or a fungal infection caused by lack of necessary drainage. I have found that Syngonium can be sensitive to not drying out enough before watering. They will be fine for a while, but eventually start to suffer. I’ve also found that Planta habitually has me overwatering many of my plants, including both of my Syngonium plants, so I’ve started using a moisture meter every time before watering. For Syngonium, I wait till they are on the low end of moist before watering and they seem much happier!

Okay yes I do enjoy the act of watering and tend to over water. Would you suggest putting them outside in the sun (100 degrees Phoenix) for a couple hours to dry out or bad idea?

That might work for a day or so, but I tried that recently with my Parlor Palm for about a week and it was NOT happy with me. I just don’t know how much effect a couple hours would have, but you could try. If you can, and the soil is compacted enough, you might try a trick I recently taught myself. See if you can take it out of its current planter and put it in a terracotta pot of similar size without disturbing the soil. Just go around the edges of the pot with something long to separate the soil from it. The terracotta will help wick the moisture away faster and since the soil is left in tact, you won’t get any transplant shock.

A couple possible suggestions: if you have a small fan, you could use that to help with some additional airflow and aid moisture release from the soil. Alternatively, I know it’s a bit silly but I’ve heard of many people using a tampon inserted into the soil to wick out the excess moisture! Worth a shot! Also, once it’s time to water again, you might consider using a 1:4 dilution of hydrogen peroxide and water into the soil - I do this when needed to help with light root rot and fungi in the root system (bonus, it kills fungus gnat larvae in the soil)

It’s overwatered. The plant can’t get rid of the excess water. Do not move it to hot sun. That huge temperature change can shock the plant. Just let the soil dry out between watering times. Give it lots of indirect light and good airflow to help dry the plant and soil. You can completely change out the soil in an emergency. This is not an emergency with this small damage. 🍀🪴
