Hey I have basil that’s starting to dry and wilt and parsley that’s just flopping. Ik I’m not under or over watering bc I haven’t watered when ever the soil is even slightly damp-I have wooden skewers and the dirt still damp about and inch deep. I’m just wondering if I should do a big trim and package what I can try and leave some for new growth or am I doing something wrong

Were they purchased as full plants from a grocery store? If so they just never do well, I think because they’ve been squished and shoved together in those plastic bags that cause humidity around the leaves and they eventually die. The roots rot and they just aren’t meant to survive lol You can tell with the basil how close together the stems are planted

My Basil always was a diva. It had to get all the way dry then completely soak and it would perk up. I’m not saying that’s textbook just my experience

They are not getting enough light. They need full sun. Just aclimate them slowly, or they will burn.

I think I get partial sun all day. I have a grow light it’s just bulky and heavy and is hanging so I have to find a way to hang it from my ceiling and be secure bc I will cry if it falls….

Sun deficiency for sure! I have clip on grow lights from Amazon for $12. Totally worth it and it gets the job done.

Well I will say I decided to repot them so I can see the base roots and for the basil the roots just washed right off and had about 3 mothers so it was three separate plants grouped up supper thick and for the parsley it had a cloth death trap and was sand dry when I broke it open. So I will take the screw I found and prob a shoe string in the morning and get the light set up so that it can help them recharge after there surgery

I like to repot them as soon as possible to separate the plants and give them better soil and I like using clay pots for them too. Rosemary is an arid herb so it grows nicely with the cactus 🌵
