I’m struggling with plant placement. On some sites I read that my plants should not be in direct sunlight while this app says they thrive in part sun (which I believe means direct sunlight for 3-6 hours of the day?) For example, I have a ZZ plant that Planta says thrives in part sun, but other websites say it should not be in direct sunlight. What should I follow?

if you want your zz to grow fast i’m pretty sure they can be acclimated to full sun (even outdoors). shade or partial sunlight is good for a low maintenance plant though as it will grow slower and thus use less water

Zz plant originate from east and South Africa. They can take direct sunlight. I have mine in direct sunlight from morning until afternoon 3-4 pm. She loves it. Zz leave are thick and hardy so they can handle it. If you want it to grow give her the sun. If you want her to grow slow bright indirect light. If you want her hardy do anything but not die low light. Lol She can survive lower light conditions but she will not thrive.

My ZZ loves my Northeast window. I struggle with the same dilemma with my plants and trying to find spots where the heat/ac vents don’t blow on them.
