I just got this fiddle leaf fig and it’s in a 12” nursery pot. Can I leave it in this pot? Any tips helpful.

    could you? yes. SHOULD you? absolutely not. there will be very little new growth if any, and if you’re looking to reuse the pot it will get harder by the second.

      Thank you! My only concern is that due to the shape of the pot it is slightly tapered at the bottom. A fraction smaller than the nursery pot. Will that be an issue if I repot it?

    Definitely change the pot. The poor baby is struggling to fit all of its roots in there. It wants to grow but can’t.

      Can I repot it in this pot? Remove from the nursery pot and add potting soil?

      Ideally your pot would be at least an inch bigger than the pot you have right now, I’d even say a couple inches due to how compacted the roots are. The biggest thing though is the drainage. I see it has a tray, does it have drainage holes?

      How wide is it at the top? If it’s a good size I would go for it!
