Anyone know what causes the leaves to curl on my Peperomia Hope? Itâs not overwatering. I let it dry out before watering. I recently started using distilled water. I just donât know what it could be.

I have plants doing that right now as well. I was told it was from low humidity

under watering is the most common cause of curling leaves in peperomia âhopeâ. they do better in a denser soil than a chunky mix (half perlite half potting soil works) and with regular watering, once the top inch of soil is dry

See this is where I keep getting confused because I keep getting conflicting information. Iâve heard more about these plants being like a succulent and require less water. My plant is currently in a plastic pot with lots of drainage but still seems to stay moist for a long time, and Iâve been allowing it to dry completely before watering again. I guess Iâll try watering it more often. I think itâs in a mix of tropical soil with perlite and bark.

The leaves curled even in the Texas heat and humidity of summer. It stays around 55% humidity inside my home. Guess I could try putting it in my mini greenhouse and run the humidifier every once in a while.

i totally understand wanting to treat this plant like a semi-succulent. for the first few months i had mine i watered when about half the soil was dry and got thin, curly leaves. i increased watering to when the top inch is dry and am still getting curly leaves though not as bad. i think i need to change it to a media with less drainage material (itâs in a similar mix to yours), since the roots are so fine. speaking of those fibrous peperomia rootsâ i suppose the reason they need so much water is that theyâre very delicate, and can dry out fast. itâs hard to believe (iâm worried iâll over water mine) since the leaves are so succulent in appearance but treating it more like a water loving tropical works
