Hi everyone! What’s your recommendation on potting soil? I have a few clippings of pothos, spider plant, basket, and mother of millions. Not planning on potting them together but I’m not sure what soil/mixture to use!

You’re welcome! I’ve seen a lot of people use perlite and it seems to work very well.

MAYBE a humidity dome too. Don’t quote me on that though. I just root all my plants in water by a bright window and then plant them. I just watch a lot of potting vids.

I also don’t think it would hurt if you planted them together! Maybe the spider plant by itself because of the water nodes but the rest could be planted together, IF you wanted to do that!

If the clippings already have root growth, and you’re repotting them, I would just use a mixture of soil, perlite/vermiculite, and some small orchid bark. If they do not have any established roots yet, I would see if you can get coco coir and moisten that soil and put them in there to establish roots. Or you can just do the good old water method. But you can’t do that with the mother of millions. It has to go in coco coir. Hope that makes sense.

my go-to for all my plants - from spiders to philodendrons is a mix of regular potting soil & an orchid bark mix from lowe’s that has orchid bark, perlite and charcoal. i also toss in some mosquito bits to prevent fungus gnats. from my experience, 90% of plants loveeee a breathable soil mix
