Hi everyone did I do okay? This is my first repotting of a calathea. I was so nervous getting it out of the mini pot. I gave the plant some water with an eye dropper. Any thoughts appreciated ❤️ 🙏

You did great! Does the new pot have drainage? If so, don’t be afraid to water well. The trick is to water a good amount like for a small pot like this 2 cups of water is just fine. Just make sure it comes out of the drainage holes and stops dripping. Then before watering next check that the soil has dried up sufficiently around the root ball - you can use a chopstick as it can be hard to get your finger into the soil with a small pot. Or a moisture meter works too. If it’s not moist any more then water well again next time round. Calatheas are notorious for being sensitive to minerals in tap water. So while you can go out and buy distilled water, it might be more economical to use water conditioner. This is used for aquariums to remove chlorine and chloramine to prevent killing fishies. For 2 cups you would only need a drop so the small bottle will last a long time. I use the Stress Coat one. Good luck with your baby! 🌿🌿🌿
