Hello, I'm very new to this app and to plant care really. How do you know when it's the right time to re pot a plant please? Will the app tell me? I just watered this according to planta but feel it's too big for the nursery pot now? Thanks so much ☺️

There are a couple of things I look out for; First of which are roots growing out from the bottom of the planter. Not necessarily just one or two sticking out but a decent size cluster. Another sign is if you are watering that plant a lot more often then yiu used to; That means that there are a lot more roots in there that are sucking up the water. A third sign I look out for, if the plant has been thriving and nothing has changed with it as far as location, no pests etc... the leaves might start to yellow from being too root bound. Depending on the soil mix you have it in, you could always gently pull it out of the planter to take a peek at it; lightly squeeze or tap the sides of the planter while holding the plant at the base and lifting up. Hope that helps =)

Hi Julie! I sucked at plants before but the app is really helpful. The app sends a reminder to fertilize your plants (if possible choose the liquid fertilizer which makes it easier especially if you use the pre-made fertilizer mix then add water). Once I fertilize look at the plant to see if it should stay in the same pot or move to a different one. What type of plant and on what type of pot?

Pull off the pot. Upsize if there are more roots in the pot than soil. The roots will form a woven basket all through the soil especially around the outer surfaces when they are overgrown. Some plants like being root bound like snake plants and spider plants. No need to repot if the plant looks healthy. You might need to water a bit more. Roots sticking out the bottom is not a good indicator for repotting. Roots will grow out if there is drainage water in the drainage saucer. You can stop those stray roots by emptying out the drainage saucer every time you water. 🪴🍀
