Hi all. Is this a relative of an African Violet called a Kohleria? Does it have a more specific name? It’s struggled for months and the soil is constantly dry. Just repotted 2 months ago from the tiny pot it came in, wondering if I should repot in AV soil this weekend? What are the spots and the burnt looking yellowing parts? Thanks so much

I have one of these! First of all, winter is just not their best season, so be patient. Second, I find that stems frequently die back and new ones pop up, so it’s normal for an existing stem to start looking grumpy. Third, maybe it wants more humidity? Try putting it on a pebble tray. Lastly, AV soil is good but I don’t know if it’s worth stressing the plant by repotting it now. Just water more often.
