Still having this problem with my parlor palm... frond tips are turning gray/brown progressively and becoming super brittle and a little transparent. Watered today with fertilizer; been watering with planta's schedule. It gets enough light too, with a good humid environment. New leaves and shoots are still growing in, but they keep adopting these traits. Planted in a pot with tropical soil and drainage. Someone please help!

The grey color often means a sunburn. The brown could indicate a watering issue however could double with the sunburn issue. I can’t tell for sure but I have a parlor palm that I have managed to have thrive. And I’ve found he likes to be almost ignored. I water it when the soil is dry almost completely, it’s in good sun but five feet away from the direct source and in medium drainage soil with holes. He grows so fast and healthy and I stopped listening to some of the more stereotypical advice with parlor palms. Less is more with my experience.

It looks too far. Use the light meter app to measure the amount of light reaching the plant. Most my plants are within 1.5 ft from the light source running 12 hours a day.

I do agree that you need to let it almost completely dry out but I have almost killed one from neglect too so don't take it too far😅

Could be over watering, mine was water logged despite following a schedule and I let mine dry out completely and now I’m watering based on how heavy the pot is

If you are sure it isn’t a light issue then I would check water. Plantas schedule over watered my palm. Maybe my palm is a weirdo about his light but he’s fairly far from the source but the source is very bright.

The pot looks pretty big for it too. Id put it in something smaller, but if you don't want to do that just don't soak all the soil when you water it, just right around the plant.

      I second this.

Cant reply to everyone but thank you all so much! Ill be downsizing the pot, barely decreasing distance from light, and altering watering schedule 💜💜
