This is what is left of my spider plant and what new growth is present. Not sure if the new growth is spider plant or something that was just in the soil🤷‍♀️. What I think happened was that when I brought it home and watered it, I also put the recommended number of Miracle-Grow fertilizer spikes. Just a guess. Any advice on where to go from here? Since it has something growing and if it’s spider plant-could I remove the nearly dead part and plant pups from my other spider plant that is healthy? Thanks for any advice/direction/thoughts you may have 🍃 🪴

Hard to say, I think I would trim all the dead stuff away and just leave the little stuff and see what happens. You could also after removing all the dead stuff tip it out of the pot and see what kind of roots the new growth is attached to and just replant those little sections in a small pot. Adding healthy plants to the struggling pot doesn't make sense because if there is a fungal issue in the roots you don't want to pass it to the fresh plants. If you want to plant the new pups I would start in a clean pot with fresh soil.

Thank you! As I was writing about planting pups into this pot, I thought that it wasn’t a good idea, but I’d already hit send😊

I agree. Cut out all the old leaves. Then remove the new growth. Check the roots. Remove any dead roots and give it some new soil. I’ll bet it comes back.

  4. I has lots of plants

Those are the baby spider plants that come up after one dies. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn’t
