lol! I swear it’s not. I hate he idea of pruning because I wanna see how much bigger it can get, but I haven’t repotted and I’m going on two years 😬

That might be something I could do! I’ll have to do a little research to see if it could survive

Old post but I really need to know what size pot yours is in. Your plant is goals and I’m doing my best to get there, mine may have consumed this table but now that I know they can eat bookshelves I have to get mine bigger. Any tips? I can’t believe it got that giant in 2 years! Repotting sounds like quite a task for you, lol

Your plant is equally as gorgeous!! You’re doing a fantastic job :) Tbh, though, there’s not much I do to keep her alive. I follow whatever Planta suggests for the day. Some days I’ll miss because I get lazy haha, but this plant we have is very resilient, and also very dramatic lol. Sometimes planta won’t recommend to water the ivy, but I know when the leaves lose their sheen and start to sag it needs water. At this size, it requires 3/4 gallon of water. I use a store bought miracle gro fertilizer (yellow bottle, green cap), about a half a teaspoons worth when it’s time to fertilize. Other than that, I’m all hands off. I haven’t had a need to prune or anything. Not sure if it matters or not, but I keep that window next to it closed, and open the other window every now and again for some airflow. The humidity in my house hovers around 30% give or take. That all said, you were right, the repotting was terrible! Lol I thought she was gonna die since she was shedding vines non-stop. Luckily it stopped after about three weeks. I did the repot maybe two months ago. Crazy thing was I was expecting the roots to be bound because they were starting to grow to the top, but it wasn’t at all, like not even close… so I probably could have kept it in the same pot for another year. As for the pot, I believe that size was 10 inches across. But yeah, you keep taking great care of your baby the way you already are and it’ll continue to flourish!!

She lost some volume from the repot, but has recovered well since!

My apologies! The pot is roughly 12in

Looks like the subtracted volume was mainly the vines that were getting a tad yellowish, could be the way the sun is hitting it in the picture though. Either way, she looks really healthy now and is prob good to go another couple of years. But your method reflected what I’m starting to learn: often the best thing you can do for plants is to leave them be, and not love them to death with water and fussing!
