I need ideas. I am a teacher in a classroom with 2 very small windows. I am looking for ideas on any plants that I can put in my classroom that will spruce it up and that the kids will enjoy. Maybe something that blooms. Something that only requires low light to thrive. All plants will be out of reach of the children so any low light plant will be good. Any ideas? Thank you in advance!

Portulaca, zebra plant and jades are all easy and pretty. Don’t forget that ribbons and glitter help add color and textures. Best of luck and happy growing!

you’re not going to get blooms in low light, unfortunately. jade needs bright light so i’d skip that rec. pothos wont bloom but it will grow a lot — even under fluorescent lights and you/the kids can add beads to the vines before the new leaves unfurl — that could be fun!

How about a holiday cactus? Schulmbergera is the scientific name. They are pretty low maintenance and have beautiful flowers 🌸
