My sarracenia is growing “teeth”! I know it’s just probably like a trichrome or something specialized to help bugs slip into the trap. I didn’t know sarracenia had these until now and I wonder if this means the plant is mature enough to possibly identify the actual kind of sarracenia

The teeth are so it slips in, but doesn’t come back out

Is this indoors? How do you feed it? It looks beautiful. I had one but it didn’t last. I fed it blood worms or the occasional fly I could catch but it didn’t last. It is beautiful!!

It’s outside in full shade, maybe 10-20 minutes a day of direct light because Florida sun is made of satans hatred. I haven’t fed it anything, just maybe one or two ants make it there a week. They really love the heat, especially around the roots, you just need to keep the roots damp. Mine sits in a plastic planter with rain/distilled water at the bottom and is only planted in sphagnum moss with a layer of perlite at the top to even out the humidity dispersion from the moist moss. The biggest secret with sarracenia is 90°f is their favorite temperature but I got my best growth on this one when it was 110°f heat index on my patio

Thanks for responding!! A lot of great information. I was trying to grow mine in NJ so that explains a lot lol. The summer months would work outside but when it is any other season 90 degrees would be impossible. Your set up is great. I see a Venus Fly Trap too.
