In the last two years, I have become very interested in plants and plant care. It’s been such a great hobby for me! My plants this summer seemed to be thriving generally and doing amazing and I thought “great! I’m finally getting the hang of this“….. And now this week my bird‘s nest fern that I’ve had forever decided to unalive itself, my alocasia has spider mites, a philodendron that I’ve been nursing back to health finally kicked the bucket and now I feel like one of my Monstera’s is being temperamental🙄 I guess the one bonus is I now have room for a few new plants! Such is the life of a plant parent! I guess this too shall pass!

It will, but it is still so heartbreaking and frustrating since most times you don’t even know why.

Don’t give up! Even when you don’t realize it you’re learning! Every year I get a little better at this obsession! Godspeed! 💚💚

If you're in the northern hemisphere, this is one of the bummers of autumn. Tropicals don't care about cozy evenings in and holidays; they just want summer forever and they pitch a fit when the seasons change. I was ready this year and STILL found spider mites!!

Apparently some ferns just do that. I've seen several terrarium keepers mention that they're unpredictable and sometimes just die off with no explanation
