They do, but only to a certain extent. Highly recommend beneficial nemotodes that you can get from places like Amazon. It'll take a few treatments over several weeks in tandem with the sticky traps, but should rid yourself of the problem almost entirely.

I tried the neem oil, it didn't do that much compared to the effectiveness of the nemotodes. I still use neem oil occasionally for a spot treatment, but if the population is doubling, neem won't be able to keep up and and a bit smelly to boot. The sticky traps are also good for eliminating extra adults along the way while the nemotodes do their work on the ones in the soil.

I should also mention that as a preventative measure, I always water with mosquito bits. They're great!

Home remedies like hydrogen peroxide have some impacts. You will still need to purchase additional products like the nematodes, as suggested, Mosquito Bits or BMC Microbe Lift that kills the larvae. 🪴🍀

Sticky traps help to get rid of some of the population but yes they do work very well for me.

I found success with spraying hydrogen peroxide on the bugs and surrounding soil, plus cinnamon (I guess they don’t like cinnamon? I am may be wrong on this) Plus Bonide Houseplant Insecticide. I hope this helps and would LOVE a status update on this!

I have learned the trick is to prevent rather than treat in my case, as it is easier to kill one adventurous pest rather than an established army. So using an insecticide regularly is a definite must for me. 🩷
