Has anyone ever thought of being able to trade plants that you have propped… and would like them to go to a good home? Here’s just a couple of the ones I have propped, (but I have more). Is there a way that we in Planta can “share” these extra plants that we want to find good homes for? Just an idea…Comments? TIA. 🤗💚🪴

Is that a pothos? And snake plant? I would love to adopt those. Not sure how we’d do this though.

Yes, the one on the bottom left is a “Brazil“ Pothos; her mother is just gorgeous! I’ll send you a picture of her. The other ones are babies from my snowflake aloe “Rauhii”; she’s popping out three more babies in her pot right now… definitely prolific! (I wish she’d stop!) Maybe we can get some others to comment on how we could make these exchanges. There’s a lot more inquiring minds in Planta than mine, so let’s see what other members say about this? TXS for your post… 🤗💚🪴

I’d say the way to do it would be to either put them up on Facebook marketplace or Etsy and then come on Planta and share the beautiful plants before making the post live, then include your Facebook handle or Etsy shop name 😊🪴🌱💚

That second one is a combo. It’s golden pothos AND Brasil philodendron.

Boy, Alisha, are you good! I didn’t remember that I had stuck a stem from my Golden Pothos into a glass of stems that I was propping from my Brazil Philo. When the glass had plenty of roots, I planted the whole mess into a pot. To make a long story short, I watched and wondered, as one branch grew like crazy, while the other stems were very slow to grow. I finally realized that this stem that was growing like crazy, was a foreigner, and then replanted her back into her parent pot. I am really amazed that you noticed the two different plants in the same pot… You’re a super duper plant detective… Congratulations!! 🎉 🤗💚🪴

Could you tell me how you find plant events on Facebook? I know, I’m such a dummy… TIA/🤗💚🪴

Orrrrrr, alsooooo hear me out. If we have plants we decide we don't like, or they are personally offended by our home. We can re-home to others 😆 🤣

But I only want my plant babies to go to a pedigreed plant home… Got it? 🤗💚🪴

I would really love to be in on this. I have FB but am really not a fan. I love our Planta community. I'm also a part of a yarn community and we trade skeins of yarn all the time. Now they are not living of course, but same concept. A new channel/thread should be created just for swapps/trades. And there people will post pictures of their plants/props they want to get rid of and the wheeling & dealing happens!! Shipping is simple. I order plants online often!!

There will be some $$ exchanging hands for shipping or if you simply want to sell the plants/props. This doesn't have to be messy. Simply use venmo or paypal. Easy-peasy! If you'd like to see how it's done elsewhere. The yarn community that I swap in is called Ravelry - check out the forums - swapps. There you will see how they handle swapping/trading their pretties ;)

Our town has a FB page specifically for plant swaps/rehoming. Yours may, too.

TXS for the tip; I’ll definitely check it out. Have you ever purchased a plant this way? If so, how did it go? TIA…. 🤗💚🪴
