My Hoya Kerri is wobbly and is starting to have some trouble standing up. I thought maybe the pot was too small but when I took it out to move it, the roots weren’t that big. What could cause this?

Mine has been a wicked slow grower since I got it. Some people have even recommended downsizing hoya pots so they’re more snug in there. Yours will like that stake, they’re good trellis growers
1 me gustaThey have thick stems that support them when there are few leaves. But, they will need a trellis, a stake or being clipped to a hanging basket wire if you want upright growth. They are not a shrub variety that can stand on their own.
1 me gustaYour pot is definitely too big and will end up staying wet too long. I would suggest a clear pot about 7.5 - 10 cm across depending on how big the root ball is. Is it in classic potting soil? If so definitely research Hoya potting mix as classic potting soil will cause root rot for sure as it won’t dry out fast enough.
3 Me gustaThank you!! I didn’t know they liked being root bound. I changed the pot, changed the soil, and ordered a trellis 🙂
