   For such an “easy” and “beginner friendly” plant, my coleus is my BIGGEST struggle to get happy. We bought a baby with 6 leaves and it’s been the most dramatic and difficult thing to keep happy. First two weeks I couldn’t keep up with watering it then after that it retained so much moisture for so long that I didn’t need to water for over two weeks. It’s then chosen to only grow vertically into the grow light and burn all the leaves like and idiot. I’ve gotten it moved to the top shelf where it absolutely cannot get a burn, and it’s just been budding baby leaves all over the stem now. I tried pinching the top like basil at one point to encourage branching and he told me to leave him alone forever. I can’t win with this coleus.
