The Lone Bloomer

Hello everyone. I took a trip back home for Christmas and left my plants for like 3 weeks and was hoping for the best (I know, don’t judge me). This is my peace lily, it looks the worst. I don’t know if it’s dead or not. I’m thinking I could resume watering, prune the dead leaves and see if it’ll sprout again? Or am I delusional? Please help!

Haha no judgment, sounds like a nice break! Was this not watered for the entire time and was it near a window or outdoors?

I watered it the day I left and put it along with my other plants above a makeshift tray of water but that also dried up and the soil was completely dry. It’s indoors, near a window.

Ah okay, just wanted to make sure it wasn’t rotted or cold damage, hard to tell with pictures, yep! I’d just cut it back and give it light and water

my peace lily often looks like this after a vacation…. she will likely bounce back! i’ve given up and put her into water permanently lol

Ohh, that’s a relief! Keeping my fingers crossed for good results. I also didn’t know I could grow her in water! I might opt for that as well as she’s quite needy 😅

definitely cut away anything that’s dead! if it’s green it will grow

as long as there’s even a semi-okay part it should be fine after you trim the bad parts

By semi-okay part, do you mean the leaves, roots or both? Because the leaves all seem quite crispy - some less than others though.

mostly roots but it’s better if there’s leaves as well. it’ll prob be fine I raised an African violet from death

Let it dry out and water casually, it’s too moist and showing stress.

I would say cut it back and be sure to give her non chlorinated water (because peace lilies are overdramatic and picky ladies) give her a good drench and hopefully she’ll perk up
