My first experience with plant death and taking it kinda hard. My husband brought me home a Spanish Lavender and forgot to take the stopper out. I would never have imagined that it had one so didn’t even consider it an option. Tried repotting and drying out. Cactus soil the whole bit. Finally I planted it in the sandy, rocky soil that I should’ve done in the first place hoping for a miracle. I took some cuttings and have been nursing them for 48 days and was doing okay until it wasn’t and now it’s done as well. Just overnight. From day to day it was so finicky. I did ALL the things for so long for nothing. Very frustrated and emotional 😭.

I feel you, been there as well on some plants that I liked. Repotted, changed substrate, nursing, nurturing, babying them thinking they'll get better or will adapt anytime soon... until at the end, I just have to put them to sleep to keep their dignity intact 😭. Or mine, lol.

I am really sorry your plant didn’t make it. I’m sure it makes it worse that it was a gift from your husband and not one you bought yourself.

Thank you. Yes, he introduced me to horticulture this year when we planted a small raised vegetable garden together. I was taken in by the explosion of growth and so he wanted me to have something beautiful and fragrant to tend. One plant has turned into 9 now and they’re all hanging in there lol. Every day is something new to learn. Rewarding and maddening at the same time.

I totally get that, I’ve killed so many plants on my journey and every time even when I know I couldn’t have done anything it still makes me disappointed. Im so sorry your plant died 🤍
