I have a Melo alocasica. I saw this on it. I’m not sure it’s a flower or what? The plant doing great I’m not concerned, but I didn’t know what to do about it. Thank you in advance.

Yes, that is an inflorescence. You can choose to leave it or cut it

Thank you Tanya. Is there a pro or con on keeping it?

I’ve heard that leaving it on will divert energy to the flower rather than the foliage, but idk if it’s true. The inflorescence is a sign of a happy healthy plant, so I would say it mainly comes down to personal preference whether to leave it on or not

I agree it's a flower. Alocasia flowers are interesting to see but they're not overly beautiful. I can take them or leave them.

If you keep the flower energy will go into the flower production followed by seed production. If you remove the flower the energy will go into the foliage.
