So I like to do a weekly fine my work has me driving all over Houston. I came across this tree that had been rotting out. The neighbors were concerned about falling on their house, so I went ahead and called the department that would remove it since itâs in the easement, but I saw this little tree growing inside the dying tree so I did a trunk chop as I am trying to create bonsai. I got this guy home. Itâs been six days. Itâs still green and fresh and working and I got two additional ones that have good root structure as well. This is my first attempt on a yamadori. Since it was gonna be taken down anyway Iâve gotten several different answers from AI of what kind of tree this is so if anyone knows, please let me know.
4 likesCan someone tell me if itâs because of old age or because sheâs growing very beautiful and that leaf that was one of the first she had has become like this and another one too
2 likesAlocasias love to sacrifice an old leaf and yellow it like that when it wants to grow a new leaf or surge a bunch of new roots. Totally normal and sometimes youâll lose several back to back just for a much larger nicer leaf to show up. You can prevent losing leaves as often by fertilizing every 2nd watering (diluted fertilizer not full strength every time)

This is my Jewel orchid. It belonged to my parents and is over 20 years old. It has gone through several prunings and repotting. It faithfully blooms every January and puts out sometimes 100 flower stems with many tiny orchid flowers on each stem. What a Wonder to see God's handiwork.
