Hey Everyone, my family and I are starting to prepare for a move in December. It’ll be about a 10 hour drive, I have about 25 plants of varying sizes. What has anyone done in the past to make sure your plants survive the cold drive? Thanks in advance!

Keep the temperature around the plants above 55°F during the move. Heat packs/shipping warmers can be used in packaging. They last from 30 hours to 96 hours. 🪴🍀

During a move last year that was 7 hours, I hired a moving van that was able to get the air conditioning to reach into the back where the plants were. I actually had the opposite problem where it was sweltering heat and needed the air to cool the van and thankfully didn’t have any losses. Best of luck with your move!

we have moved plants across the country a few times! lots of blankets and other materials to prevent the leaves from freezing will help, you will likely lose some leaves or branches-its unavoidable sadly! you can also use battery powered fairy lights to "tie" the blankets around them, the lights can help slightly with warm and preventing freezing within the leaf cells 😊
