So this year I’ve been having these things grow everywhere on my mulch beds and in the grass area in front of our sidewalk (not our lawn). I googled it and it’s a weed called Common Purslane? What are these things really? Why are they growing everywhere all of the sudden and what do I even do with them??? They’re not ugly like regular weeds. I just don’t know why they’re here and what to do! Thanksssss!

Those grow in my garden. You never plant them they just appear lol. You actually can eat them! I don’t think they’re bad for your other plants so you can just let them grow

They are an annoying weeds. They look like the commercial variety that produce lots of colorful flowers in spring. Except the flowers are barely noticeable on this weed. I have them all over my backyard, in the cracks of my driveway and sidewalk. They produce a lot of fine seeds that survive winters and self sows the next growing season. Dig them out or treat with a herbicide. I just let them be.

If you aren’t getting colorful flowers that you can see without a magnifying glass….. AND if you need the space for something you love. Then remove her to another location or just let her be to fill in your greenscape.

Thank you all! We’re still tbd on what to do with them since it’s only in a corner of this mulch bed!
