I need some advice for my sprouting set up for my classroom. I have the seeds in coco coir. There are vents at the top of the domes. Should I open those or close them? It’s pretty dry here. Also, how many hours do y’all leave the grow lights on? These have an option for 4, 8, 12, or 18 hours. Last question: Do you water very often if the vents on the domes are closed? I have a couple off the heat mat because we’re doing an experiment on which one works best. Thanks for the help!

For me, I leave the vents open if 2-3 of the cells have sprouted (leaves need air). Once most of the cells sprout, I leave the lid off completely. And I leave the light on for 12hrs for germination, with heat mats on. Warmth, humidity, and light help seeds sprout and begin to grow!
