I’ve had this lemon lime philodendron for about two weeks now, and it has a lot of new growth but the leaves don’t seem to be unfurling. It has been under a grow light, about maybe 8 inches from it and slightly to the side. Does anyone know if there’s something wrong with it or does it just take that long for the leaves to unfurl?

They do take a while. I don’t have a lemon lime but I have a Brazil & compared to my pothos it’s a bit slower but they should definitely be opening up soon! Sometimes a bit of humidity helps the unfurling process but not necessary.

Yours looks like it’s doing well to me! There’s just a lot of leaves packed in there. I have a Brasil Philo named Phyllis and when I first got her she took a little while to start unfurling her leaves. But the entire time I’ve had her she’s been in indirect light to shaded areas and she’s loving it!

It prefers shade but leaves not unfurling sounds like a moisture issue to me.

Philodendrons are sloooooow. Have you tried adding humidity?

I’m curious about the one leaf that looks red…I haven’t seen that before? Is that sun stress?

It’s normal for lemon lime philodendrons to have red or pink on newer leaves. As the leaves get older, they change to the normal color 👍

It could be adjusting to its new environment.
