My fairy washboard plant is rotting at the bottom, is there any way to save it? I water using planta’s schedule (about once a month) and it no longer has any good/unrotted roots.

I don’t know anything about that kind of plant, but maybe try to propagate it? One thing I have found about this app… It’s super helpful, but the watering schedule is usually way too fast for my plants. I always always always check the soil first by sticking a bamboo skewer to the bottom to make sure that the bottom of the soil Isn’t still damp. About the only time this app is totally on schedule for me is in the middle of the summer when it’s really hot out. Other than that, I have to skip or snooze quite often. BUT I have so many plants and don’t want to keep track of fertilizing in the spring and summer so I still like it.

I haven’t had any problems with the plants watering schedule. But at the end of the day it’s still just a recommendation. Your plants have the final say. That’s why there is a snooze option. But I would imagine if the plant is not ready then the soil is holding onto more water then the plant can absorb. I suggest using a chunkier mix. Make sure you are using the plant spec options accurately to reflect the soil type, and general environmental conditions. That helps a lot. You can’t listen to the soil manufacturers. I always have to amend my soil to make it suit the needs of my plant. And for succulents and cacti I stopped using soil at all and use lava rock Or bonsai mix instead. Something that better represents their condition in their natural environment.

It hard to say it it can be saved without a picture. Really depends on how far the rot has spread

Thank you all!! The rot had just barely touched the bottom of the stem and I will try to prop the remaining leaves. The soil had been dry for a few extra days, the pot has drainage holes but maybe the type of soil. 🤷‍♀️
