Can anyone help with this palm? It looks like it’s got a pest but not sure how to get rid of it! Thank you 😁

I hate that I’m the first person to comment because I know I’m totally freaking out and there is probably a less intensive treatment but I would cut that bottom leaf off completely. (I think it’s the bottom leaf ) it is over run. That leaf is no longer yours. It belongs to what I am assuming are mealy bugs but I’m not certain. If it were me I’d repot. Change out the soil completely. Spray the entire plant down with neam oil solution with a few drops if dish soap, top, bottom, in between the creases. Everywhere! Let that sit for a few minutes then give it a good rinse in the shower before putting it back in some fresh soil. I’d also disinfect the entire area where it was sitting before placing it back there. And keep treating with the neam spray until you know the problem is solved. I feel so sick because it’s such a beautiful plant. I hope someone comes with an easier solution. Good luck

That bottom leaf does look rough and I agree with the mealy bug thing. It’s always best to ere on the safer side and be pretty intense with treatment. For the one with only a few using rubbing alcohol to get rid of them might work (using q tip- cotton ball saturated and dabbing at it) and then also spray the entire plant with it. But I think neem would work and spraying it down in the shower and using dish soap would work as well.
2件のいいねThese are scale! A lot of scale. My first reaction would be to throw out the plant. Because it will take a few weeks of repeated treatment to ensure they are gone. You can treat them if you are up to a challenge. Neem oil can kill off the soft shell ones. Rubbing alcohol sprayed on the hard shell ones can kill those. Then, scrape the crusty shell to expose the babies under the shell. Finally, spray the babies with neem oil or rubbing alcohol. Repeat weekly until you see no more of them. This could take months. Also, wipe down the pot, under the pot, the place where the pot sits, plant tools and every plant in that room with rubbing alcohol. Your hands can very quickly spread the babies. Wash hands or clean with alcohol filled hand sanitizer between touching anything near other plants. Also, treat the soil or change it out completely. Good luck 🍀🪴

hi, it’s def scale. happened to my palm and despite consistent treatment, the palm has so many fonds and it’s really hard to get rid of. if you want, i’d suggest taking a qtip and alcohol to remove the scale often. then give it a good wash. sorry you’ve had this experience but good luck!
