do you use chlorinated tap water for this plant? if so i’d recommend filtering and treating your tap water first with some aquarium water conditioner. i use that or rainwater but many people will recommend distilled water as well. these plants are really sensitive to excess chemicals and minerals in their soil so the purer the water the better; i’d recommend flushing the soil thoroughly once the top 1/2” or so has dried. always wait for the topsoil to dry before watering again to prevent rot

I would not remove all the leaves. As far as I’m aware (feel free to correct me if I’m wrong), the majority of Calatheas won’t grow back from just roots. I’m not sure about this specific one, but I think it’s better to play it safe than risk losing it. Just remove the worst leaves and leave enough so it can continue to photosynthesize.
