I’m trying to add more plants to my life. I have this ginseng ficus that isn’t doing so well. Planta says it’s due to unbalanced watering. I’m supposed to prune the worst parts. Do I trim right back to the main part of each branch? Also any helpful hacks for busy schedules and watering. I’m trying hard here and the poor plants just don’t seem happy.

Hi tibbs! For amazing tips and knowledge regarding bonsai care such as what to cut and how, i find Herons Bonsai on youtube has the best advices! Also, what i added in my bonsai pot and has helped me gage watering (to avoid overwatering and underwatering) is a moisture meter!!! Aim for 4-5 of moisture or stick your finger in the soil. It takes 2 seconds everyday and i find its easier than following a watering schedule! Good luck! 🙂

It looks like it may be drying out a bit too much between waterings bc it looks like the branches are drying up.
