I recently just got this Fishbone Cactus, it’s my first plant ever. Any tips on how I can make it more full and look healthier?

wait for its branches to feel a little soft before watering again. it’s ok to water if they’re still firm if you’re 100% sure the soil is totally dry. a bamboo skewer is the most accurate tool besides your fingers to check the moisture level. offer it as much light as you can, ideally somewhere like a west-facing window. you likely won’t see much growth the next few weeks as it adjusts to your environment, especially since it is dark and gloomy outside this time of year

thank you!! someone mentioned to me that I could cut off some of the ends and replant them back into the same pot to fill it out. does this really work?

that’s called propagating and i honestly wouldn’t recommend it until you’re confident caring for this plant. while not the hardest plant to propagate, it does take some practice, know-how, and patience. given enough light on top of the plant it should start branching out on its own

I agree with Plant Father, and I’d also provide some fertilizer starting in a month or so once she’s adjusted to the new environment. 💚
