Hey y’all! What is the best way to get plants cheap? I’m not independent and don’t have a stable income, so I’m wondering if there’s a cutting exchange group in the DC/MD area.

    you can find free houseplants and cuttings online on your local free stuff website, or on sites like fb marketplace, or even your local “buy nothing” group on facebook

    Lowe’s clearance section! Most of the plants there are $20 or less, and a lot of them come with pots! (Of course, there’s a little bit of work that might need to go into rehabbing them, but I’ve learned a lot through doing that.)

    I’m in PA. Found an Amish Nursery and their prices are so low, it’s awesome! I came home with 9 plants, pots, and plastic bases and spent like $50.

    Do you have a plant group in your area you can join on Facebook? You could trade cuttings or watch for ones people are giving away.
