Zz plant. I have repotted this several times. It still looks fine but clearly the roots keep growing out of the soil. Should I repot and bury them more?

Yes. Bury deeper. Can cover an inch or so of the stem.

Interesting! I haven’t heard that. I’ve always had the rhizomes in the dirt and the stems covered by a small layer of dirt for the shorter stems but some of my stems are well over 3’ tall and seem to fall over too much if I don’t have them deeper in the soil. I guess I could use sticks to keep them upright but don’t have sticks that tall.

Yea, I moved across the country in the middle of the summer a few years ago and brought as many plants as I could and this one was one that needed a little salvaging after the move. You can see progress pics in my profile from what it was to now. But it did get some help when I broke apart and repotted some of my moms much taller ZZ and add it to the middle of mine so I had more variation in the height. But that is good to know about dirt levels with the rhizomes, and I’m glad you shared! I think I may get some white rocks or something to help with support (instead of soil) when I repot in the future. I’d hate for this guy to die since I’ve had it for so long and it’s a combo of mine and my moms!
