Why is my Areca palm so brown? It’s brown and crispy on some of the leaves. When I brought it home it had a couple brown spots but it’s only getting worse. I have a humidifier and a grow light as it’s in a 50/50 spot about 3 metres from the windows. I’ve only had it for about two weeks, I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated thanks

Mine did the exact same the last few weeks, after having it since last summer 😔. I moved it under a grow light which seemed to save it for a while, but then it took a sharp turn downhill and it’s all crispy now. The only thing I can think of is the temperature where I am dropped significantly the last couple weeks so our indoor heating is on constantly. Not sure if that’s the case where you are, but if so, chances are it may just need a good soaking more regularly, along with the humidifier.

I don’t have this exact palm but 70% of my Kentia palm leaves got crispy and died before using planta, I think due to under watering at first. She also got brown tips from being in too dark of a location + overwatering (she’s been through a lot!). Now she’s got lots of bright indirect light and using planta’s watering schedule. Has one new frond a year
