Potting up is always good for a new plant IMO as the time he’s been in that soil/pot is unknown. Shoot for 2inches bigger than the one he is in now. Noticing the wrinkling, he probably needs some water to help him recover. Check the top soil, if it’s crumbly he probably needs water. Also check the bottom soil- see if it’s wet. If the bottom is wet while the top is dry he def needs a repotting; he could get root rot so make sure he is in a draining pot(aka with a hole/s in the bottom) He seems small enough that bottom watering wouldn’t be too difficult aka he’s not too long trailing-wise yet! Bottom watering doesn’t disturb the soil as much, it’s usually helpful for recently potted up plants. As for soil try a mix of regular potting soil & perlite! I usually mix in a bit as I add soil to the new pot so it’s ~20%! I hope this helps💚 good luck!!!

I’ve also murdered a few… and have only managed one alive but I’d suggest a repot into something only slightly bigger, try not to disturb the roots and rehydrate that top soil

definitely don’t repot if you just got the plant. let it acclimate to your home first since it looks healthy. these plants are best treated like a succulent— lots of bright, direct light, and wait for the soil to dry completely before watering again. these plants are prone to watering issues because of their shallow root system, i’ve had the best success using a soil mixture that’s at least 70% grit and the smallest, shallowest pot possible.

Hey! I have a string of hearts plant that I bought about 8 months ago that is doing extremely well! I have her potted in a very shallow hanging system currently (wider pots are better than deeper for this plant from what I’ve read and watched online. Deeper pots take longer to drain out, and this plant does NOT like over watering!!) I would probably not size up much larger if you do decide to size up some. Make sure whatever pot you use has drainage holes. And put her in a place she will get bright indirect sunlight! Here’s a pic of my beauty. She doesn’t have a drainage hole, but I let her drain into the sink immediately after watering, and it works fine for her.

If this is a pic of the plant you bought, DO NOT REPOT. VSOH like to be in a pot that will dry out completely between waterings. They are prone to root rot. Once it’s time to repot, only go up a size. If you repot into too large of a pot then the soil will take too long to dry out and the roots will rot.
