I repotted my first plant last year using this soil, and I’ve been using it ever since. I’ve seen a lot of posts on this app about well-draining soil and I don’t think this qualifies. I think it’s easier to overwater when a plant is in this soil. Does anyone have experience using this? Is there better quality all-purpose soil out there? Other suggestions?

Foxfarm ocean forest potting soil is the best. I use it for all of my plants and for plants that need extra drainage I just add a scoop of perlite.

Yeah pretty much any potting soil you’ll need to add at least perlite to help it be more well draining. I make my own diy soil bc it’s cheaper in the long run.

It’s rare to find a single potting mix that meets the needs of all the plants especially since the most popular plants originate from around the globe. I have found I need to add mix ins like perlite, Leca, orchid bark, worm castings, bone meal, coco coir, etc., to increase the chances the plants will not just live, but, thrive especially since I invest more money, time and effort into acquiring them. So, at minimum, perlite or other chunky additives are needed with each bag of potting soil I buy.
